How poverty reduces life expectancy.

Life in poverty often times means no or limited access to healthcare. Treatment and medicine are too expensive to buy for some people even when they are desperately sick, putting a monetary value to a person’s life. How much money you have also affects what you eat on a regular basis. Over time, eating cheap and unhealthily can shorten your lifespan. You may get diabetes, kidney and gastrointestinal ailments, or become obese. Dilapidated neighborhoods are unsafe and only more likely to be patrolled by sadistic cops. In addition to local high frequency of crime and violence, policemen have beaten or sodomized homeless men to death in the past, taking advantage of their status as “nobodies.”
